Town Awarded USDA Infrastructure Grant

The Town of Appomattox has been awarded a $3.5 million grant by the United States Department of Agriculture (Rural Development) to upgrade the infrastructure of their wastewater system. This grant will fund the closure of the 70 years-old trickling filter plant as well as provide the funding to build a new pump station. These improvements are part of a long-term plan being implemented by the Town to upgrade the wastewater system to maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements of local, state, and federal agencies.
